Camping

Camping is the heart of what we do as a Troop. It’s where boys put to practice the skills they’ve learned, and where the meaningful conversation around the embers of a campfire begin.

We try to go weekend camping 3–6 times a year as well as plan a longer summer adventure in June. Navigators are encouraged to plan more campouts—including during winter months—if they would like to.

Patrol method

It’s nearly noon. Several Trailmen head to the camp kitchen to start preparations on lunch. One Trailman is assigned as head chef, another as assistant chef, another on water duty. Each Trailman’s assignment allows him to not only contribute to the greater whole of the patrol, but to put into practice the leadership skills that will help him become a competent man.
