At least twice a month, patrols will meet to discuss any number of important issues, such as activity planning, rank advancement, and campout preparation.

Patrols provide leadership opportunities for Trailmen.

It’s the responsibility of the Trailmen, with advisement from their adult Trail Guide, to plan and prepare for the activities they wish to carry out.
Woodlands Trail
Patrol meetings are led by the adult Trail Guide and always include the five F’s:
Fun | A get-the-wiggles-out element that helps Trailmen have a little fun in every meeting |
Focus | The main topic of the evening is presented in a 5 minutes or less |
Fingers | This is a hands-on or movement-style activity(ies) where Trailmen can experience the topic in a fun way |
Faith | The Trail Guide includes a faith element to help the Trailman connect the topic with one of the Christian worldview fundamentals |
Family | Trailmen are encouraged to continue experiencing the topic by getting involved with an activity with their family later on in the week |
